Job Description
Position Responsibilities:
Review, assess, and handle legal documents (e.g., powers of attorney, guardianships, trusts, court orders, subpoenas) related to annuity and fixed products.
Determine document acceptability; draft customer and attorney communications identifying defects and remediation steps when documents cannot be accepted.
Research and apply U.S. state and Canadian provincial laws governing POAs, guardianships, conservatorships, and related legal matters.
Serve as primary point of contact for business staff on legal and contractual issues; escalate complex matters to legal counsel and management as needed.
Prepare case files, summaries, and memoranda for legal counsel; support subpoena and legal process responses through customer data research and product restriction.
