Job Title : Legal Supervisor (Payments & Regulatory) Location: South Africa Industry: Fintech (Payments/Mobile Money) Role Summary: The Legal Supervisor will lead legal and regulatory compliance for payments and mobile money operations, ensuring alignment with South African financial regulations, including AML/CFT and data protection requirements.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide legal advisory on payments, mobile money, and digital financial services - Ensure compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., SARB, FSCA, AML/CFT, POPIA) - Review and draft agreements (merchant, partner, vendor, and service contracts) - Support licensing, regulatory approvals, and engagement with regulators - Advise on KYC, AML, and transaction monitoring frameworks - Monitor regulatory changes and provide actionable guidance to the business - Manage disputes, investigations, and regulatory inquiries - Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, and Product teams on new offerings - Supervise junior le...
