**Job Description**
The practice of nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse is defined as performing tasks & responsibilities within the scope of supportive & restorative care; medication administration and specialized tasks under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse of licensed or otherwise legally authorized physician or dentist.

**Education Requirements**
1. Completion of educational program for licensure as a LPN.
2. Successful completion of required New York State Department of Health LPN IV Therapy Initial Program for the demonstration of competence in the performance of intravenous therapy/blood administration procedures as part of Centralized Orientation.
3. Successful completion of annual unit-based review & update program in procedures associated with intravenous therapy.

Appropriate experience in a health care setting preferred
