Machinist, Cape Town
R25,000-R30,000 (Depending on Experience)
Requirements & Qualifications
- Red Seal Machinist certification (or equivalent recognized journeyman machinist certification)
- At least 5 years of experience in machining/repair work (preferably including onsite / field machining)
- Proven experience with portable machining tools (line boring, portable milling, flange facing, etc.)
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, engineering blueprints, GD&T, and tolerances
- Proficient use of measuring and inspection instruments (micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, surface plates, height gauges, etc.)
- Capability to travel frequently and work at remote/industrial sites (sometimes in adverse conditions)
- Physically fit and able to lift, carry, and manipulate heavy parts; work in confined spaces, heights, or outdoors as needed
