Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Manual Lathe Operator Machinist to set up and operate conventional center lathes. The role involves producing precision components from raw materials (metal, alloys, plastics) by performing turning, facing, threading, boring, and other operations strictly on manual (non-CNC) machines. The candidate must be able to read engineering drawings, select cutting tools and speeds/feeds manually, and work to tight tolerances without the aid of CNC controls.

Machine Setup & Operation
- Set up and operate manual / conventional center lathes (e.g., HMT, Colchester, Harrison, Nardini, or similar).
- Mount workpieces using 3‑jaw and 4‑jaw chucks, collet chucks, faceplates, or between centers (including using steady rests and follower rests).
- Select and mount appropriate cutting tools (HSS, brazed carbide, or indexable insert tooling) on tool posts (e.g., quick‑change or 4‑way).
