Summary This position is located in Golden Gate National Recreation Area The primary purpose of the position is to perform building and/or utility maintenance and operation duties. Incumbent utilizes journeyman knowledge and skills in several trades and crafts. This is a Career/Career-Conditional Full-time appointment. Responsibilities Duties performed in the position of Maintenance Mechanic WG-4749-09 include but are not limited to: Perform journeyman-level work in multiple trades-primarily carpentry, painting, plumbing, masonry, and roofing-including construction, alteration, repair, layout, and finish work using power/hand tools, shop mathematics, and applicable codes/standards Operate, maintain, and repair water and wastewater systems, including pumps, filters, valves, gauges, chemical feeders, and instrumentation; interpret process data and make adjustments to ensure regulatory compliance.
