Summary This Maintenance Mechanic position is located within the Facilities Management Services at the Veterans Affairs Healthcare System in West Haven, CT. The employee performs a variety of tasks involved in the upkeep of buildings, grounds and related structures, fixtures, and utilities. The duties are performed within at least two trades. Responsibilities Major Duties include but are not limited to the following: Developing patterns and laying out, cutting, forming, joining, assembling, and installing items such as heating, air conditioning, and ventilating pipes; conduits; drying ovens; airframes; air scoops; control and flying surfaces; metal furniture; and other items with combined straight and curved edges or irregular curves and planes; and Installing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of complex equipment, and systems involving power boilers with complicated components, critical requirements and rigid tolerances; Installing modifying, repairing, maintaining, troubleshootin...
