About the role
The Portfolio Manager is responsible for the coordinated management of multiple related projects in support of the strategic objectives of their region and function. Overseeing a team of project leaders, the Portfolio Manager initiates projects and makes project leader assignments while working to ensure the ultimate success of the program. As a trusted member of the business unit or functional department leadership, the Portfolio Manager evaluates project business cases, prioritizes project work, and analyzes resource requirements and availability. Using Southco’s chosen project management tools, they continuously monitor the health of projects within their program, conducting project reviews and helping project leaders to address issues and working with other functional departments to ensure the project scope, schedule, and budget goals are achieved.
