Job Description
The MES Controls Engineer is responsible for supporting and optimizing manufacturing execution and automation systems in a high‑volume discrete manufacturing environment, with an emphasis on real‑time shop‑floor execution, seamless ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)–MES–PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) integration, and sustained production reliability under strict uptime and quality requirements.
CORE RESPONSIBIL
- Provide support for MES–PLC integrations during system launches and periods of constrained production.
- Configure, establish, and maintain MES-to-PLC communications.
- Integrate MES template routines and user‑defined data types (UDTs) into PLC programs.
- Assign, modify, and maintain PLC tags and logic required to send/receive MES transactions.
- Collaborate with Process Engineers and the MES team to understand process scope and ensure proper MES integration.
