Job Description
A massage therapist provides therapeutic and relaxing massages to clients, focusing on relieving pain, stress, and muscle tension. They assess clients' needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and use various massage techniques, like Swedish or deep tissue massage, to achieve desired results. Beyond just massage, they may also advise on stretching, strengthening exercises, and overall wellness practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide 30-60 minute massages to clients by appointment
- Guide clients through service offerings and determine which massages would benefit them most
- Take a detailed client history and note any health conditions
- Evaluate clients to determine painful or stressed areas of the body
- Advise clients on stretching, strengthening or relaxation methods
