Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT) is one of North America’s premier processors, buyers, sellers and recyclers of scrap metals of all kinds and is a key supplier to the metals industry of North America. FPT is a wholly-owned business of Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Mechanic on 2nd Shift at our Kee Container location. The Mechanic is responsible for the repairs and maintenance of trucks and heavy-duty machinery.
Summary of Responsibilities:
+ Ensure adherence to safety standards including use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), remove hazards as identified, and maintain cleanliness of the site.
+ Performs repairs on engines, brakes, suspensions, transmissions, and electrical equipment on the site’s trucks and yard machinery.
+ Air system diagnostics and repair.
+ Electrical diagnostics and repairs
+ Inspect, lubricate and service equipment per company maintenance schedules.
