Medical Lab Assistant
We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for Medical Laboratory Assistants (MLA). The role is part of our busy Microbiology department and involves supporting Biomedical Scientists and Associate Practitioners to prepare patient samples for timely testing, ensuring an excellent service for our patients.
Main duties of the job
- Prioritise urgent samples to avoid delays and ensure best patient care.
- Receipt of samples from hospitals in the Trust, GPs and other service users.
- Registration of high volumes of patient, sample and test information into the laboratory computer system and ensuring all patient information is input accurately.
- Prepare and load samples onto laboratory analysers and organise samples to be processed in a timely manner.
