Mine PIT Design Engineer – The purpose of this role is to design and update an efficient pit following geotechnical and safety guidelines to ensure optimal and economically viable resource utilisation.
This role is in Technical & Integrated Planning (T&IP) department on a Band 6 (D2/D3) level reporting to the Section Manager Mine Planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that planning designs comply with the Mine Health and Safety Act and the mine's regulations while staying within the production budget to achieve targets effectively.
- Adjust the designed plans promptly whenever geological deviations occur, ensuring that the redesigns are accurate, budget‑friendly, and comply with the long‑term plan's requirements, including road, electrical, and water network positioning.
