Job Purpose and Position Overview:
The Naval Architect will design, develop, and evaluate the operation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment. This position requires a combination of engineering, physics, and naval knowledge that enables the creation of safe and efficient vessels that meet specific requirements. This role requires the significant exercise of independent discretion and judgment in matters of significance.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Designing system schematics for proposed vessels
- Creating detailed building specifications for each job
- Produce detailed designs of ships, boats and other maritime vessels using drawings and computer software (Rhino)
