Responsibilities
- Validate information on clinical insurance claims from people seeking payment from their insurer.
- Extensively examine claims to ensure there are no missing or insufficient details.
- Maintain careful documents of insurance claims and act on lapsed situations.
- Record and keep insurance and claims information in a database system.
- Determine policy coverage and compute claim amounts.
- Process claim payments.
- Answer queries related to policy coverage criteria and standards.
- Adhere to government, state, and company policies and guidelines.
- Understand how to properly check and evaluate medical papers to authorize or reject payments.
- Communicate effectively with physicians' offices or insurance firms to resolve case issues.
- Carry out other clerical tasks as needed.
