Job Description

Purpose of the Job

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for assessing and improving clients’ ability to perform daily activities, enhance cognitive function, and promote independence in a day care or day rehabilitation setting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Assessment & Care Planning

  • Assess activities of daily living (ADLs), cognition, and functional independence
  • Develop individualised occupational therapy care plans
  • Participate in interdisciplinary assessments

2. Therapy Intervention

  • Train clients in ADLs such as dressing, bathing, eating, and grooming
  • Provide cognitive stimulation and memory strategies
  • Recommend and train in use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions
