The UPMC Vision Institute Optical is seeking a Temporary full-time dedicated Optician to join our team at 1622 Locust Street, Suite G301, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. This full‑time role supports our busy clinical optical environment by providing expert eyewear guidance, precise fittings, and exceptional patient service. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., with occasional travel to nearby UPMC optical locations to provide coverage as needed. We're looking for someone who is patient‑focused, detail‑oriented, and committed to delivering high‑quality optical care.
Responsibilities:
+ Knowledge of the different brands of lenses and lens materials currently available as well as willingness to keep current with new lens technologies is needed.
+ Measure customer's eyes, including pupillary and vertex distance as well as making all required measurements for bifocals, trifocals or progressive addition lenses.
