Requirements
- Bachelor’s in optometry (4 years) qualification. Active, current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an independent practitioner Optometrist with Ocular Diagnostic Privileges. Valid driver’s license. Strong clinical skills and ethics, theoretical knowledge, and conversant with eye care procedures and guidelines.
- Competencies (knowledge/ skills): Good interpersonal, communication, planning and organisational skills, and computer literacy (MS Office). Knowledge of applicable health legislation, relevant acts and policies. Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a resource-constrained environment.
