Job Description: Pastoral Support Officer (PSO)
Role Purpose
The Pastoral Support Officer (PSO) plays a key role within the Student Management Committee in supporting students with additional needs, including guiding students presenting behavioral issues. This work is done in close partnership with School Leaders and Middle Managers in the Student Development Team, as well as with teachers, the Student Manager, and Student Development Officer.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support School's Student Management and Development Operations
Lead investigations into cases of student misconduct.
Recommend and implement follow-up actions for misconduct in line with school policy, with application of Restorative Practice.
Support teachers in managing students' behavioral and peer-relationship issues, including coaching of students.
Partner parents/guardians on issues of student misconduct to align follow-up and support at school and at home.
