Overview
To provide various anatomic pathology services under the direction and supervision of a Pathologist.
Job responsibilities
- Gross examination and dissection of anatomic pathology specimens
- Prepare tissue for numerous pathological tests including frozen section, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence and immunohistochemical staining.
- Photo gross specimens
- Provide fresh tissue to tissue repository and research projects
- Assist pathology residents in grossing specimens
- Support frozen section duties at satellite laboratories as required
- Operate digital whole slide image scanner
- Assist in specimen accessioning, cassette printing, specimen handling and fixation prior to grossing.
- Assist in the maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Assist in specimen storage/disposal
- Participate in Quality Assurance / Process Improvement activities.
