Job Description
The Perfusionist assists the medical team in assessing, planning and implementing the patient care requirements and treatment necessary for cardiopulmonary bypass/assistance and other cardiac surgical procedures before, during and/or after surgery. The Perfusionist primary responsibility is to operate the heart/lung machine to support the patient during surgery.
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Completion of an accredited cardiovascular perfusion training program. B.S. degree in perfusion technology or life science or allied health specialty (e.g. Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, Medical Technology) preferred and/or per state and contract regulations
+ Prefer at least one year of experience as a Cardiovascular Perfusionist
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
