GENERAL SUMMARY:
Schedule: Part Time 20 hours per week - Rotating Shift
Works under the supervision of a pharmacist to process orders for medications that require special handling, preparation and/or accountability. The technician has and maintains expertise and skill in the safe handling and use of medications which require special handling, preparation and/or accountability.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Under the supervision of the pharmacist, prepares and pre-packages chemotherapy medications and/or other medications requiring special handling, preparation or accountability.
+ Reads and transcribes prescription orders and prepares prescription labels for medication dispensed.
+ Maintains appropriate records of medications dispensed.
+ Prepares preliminary drug therapy monitoring forms for use by pharmacists in assessing drug treatment.
