Summary The Pittsburgh VA Medical Center is looking to fill the role of an Abdominal Transplant Surgeon. Transplant surgeons at the Department of Veterans Affairs play a crucial role in providing life-saving organ transplants to veterans. They are responsible for performing transplant procedures, conducting pre-transplant evaluations, and post-transplant monitoring. Responsibilities Major Duties include, but are not limited to: Patient Evaluation: Thoroughly assessing potential organ recipients' medical history, current health status, and suitability for transplantation. Performing necessary diagnostic tests to evaluate organ function and compatibility with potential donors. Discussing risks and benefits of transplantation with patients and their families.
