The mission of a Planner/Buyer is to build and organize an efficient finite production schedule that maximizes production efficiency while minimizing raw material and work‑in‑process inventory, change‑over costs, and satisfies customers’ required dates.
Responsibilities
- Release and manage production work orders in accordance with MRP, Kanban signals, production plan goals, and related planning data.
- Review production capacity requirements: monitor reports and ensure capacity is available to meet the production plan.
- Release and manage raw material orders through the MRP system as necessary to meet the production schedule.
- Work with customer service personnel on maintenance of promise dates to the customer and provide customer service maintaining communication through the systems set.
