Job Description

Play Support Worker – Overview

The Play Support Worker will assist in the delivery of a quality childcare service that offers children care, play and learning opportunities in a safe and stimulating environment. This post is a temporary part‑time position for an annualised 12.16 hours per week, 52.18 weeks per year (8.4 hpw in term time and 14 hpw in school holidays) and is expected to be held on a temporary contract for approximately 2 years.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the delivery of a quality childcare service that offers children care, play and learning opportunities.
  • Support the Manager/Play Practitioners in ensuring a safe, hygienic and pleasant environment where mutual trust, respect, confidence and a caring ethos are evident.
  • Act in accordance with current legislation, including the Roles and Responsibilities Framework of the Scottish Social Service Council for the Childcare Workforce.
