In Fall 2022, Marcus Samuelsson opened his first Manhattan restaurant in seven years in the Starrett-Lehigh building in Chelsea. Hav & Mar refers to “Ocean” in Swedish and “Honey” in Amharic, drawing on Marcus’ Scandinavian heritage and Ethiopian roots, as well as the influence of African roots in modern Black cuisine. Position Overview:
The role of a dishwasher/porter is to be responsible for cleaning all dishes, pots, pans, and kitchenware with minimal breakage. They will be required to maintain a clean and organized dish station(s), inclusive of a dish machine, 3-compartment sink, mop sink, and surrounding storage.
