Job Description
PostDoc in Snow Isotope Modelling 80‑100% (f/m/d)
The WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research (SLF) is part of the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research (WSL), part of the ETH Domain. WSL focuses on the sustainable use and protection of the environment and on the handling of natural hazards. The Research Unit “Snow and Atmosphere” investigates snow and its interactions with the hydro‑ and atmosphere across different scales, with the aim to improve our understanding of the role of snow in the climate system.
In a project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF), we are investigating the impact of the newly discovered process of airborne snow metamorphism (ASM) on the physical properties and isotopic composition of polar snow. The 2‑year PostDoc will develop and implement new model equations describing the evolution of snow microstructure and isotope signals during wind‑driven snow transport, parameterise these processe...
