Overview
Prison Officers work within the UK Prison Service to safeguard prisoners, maintain a secure environment, and support the rehabilitation and reintegration of offenders. The role requires a commitment to teamwork, flexibility to work varied shift patterns (including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays), and the ability to perform a range of duties from keeping the peace to providing support and education.
