CORE PURPOSE OF JOB
The Department of Economics is seeking an academic leader in learning and teaching, research and engagement within the discipline of Economics at Nelson Mandela University. At Professor level, the position entails being available to lead, mentor early career academics, supervise up to doctoral level, host post‑doctoral fellows, initiate and lead research projects (grant based or commissioned), as well as initiating internationalisation and engagement activities through sustainable partnerships.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Facilitate learning and teaching of Economics at all levels
- Coordinate and initiate new academic programmes and curriculum renewal
- Lead research teams on quality and transformative research, innovation and internationalisation initiatives
