Overview
The Certified Orthotist and Prosthetist is responsible for the fabrication, adjustment, and repair of orthotic and prosthetic devices. This role involves working closely with patients to ensure that devices are custom-fitted, functional, and meet individual needs. The CPO must possess strong technical skills and attention to detail to ensure high-quality outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Construct, modify, and repair orthotic and prosthetic devices based on prescriptions, measurements, and specifications.
- Use various tools and machinery, including casting and molding equipment, to create custom devices.
- Assist in fitting devices to patients, ensuring proper alignment, comfort, and functionality.
