Position Summary
In collaboration with the supervising physician, the Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), at Ocean County DOC, Toms River, NJ provides comprehensive psychiatric and medical services to incarcerated individuals within the Department of Corrections. Services are delivered in accordance with community standards of care, correctional healthcare regulations, and applicable state and federal laws. This role emphasizes patient-centered, evidence-based mental health treatment in a secure and multidisciplinary environment. Per Diem.
Skills and Abilities
- Advanced clinical assessment skills, including psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and development of treatment plans
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology with the ability to safely prescribe, monitor, and manage psychiatric medications within the scope of licensure
