Role Summary
You’ll be playing a key role in identifying and reducing health inequalities across Somerset by developing public health intelligence tools, including systems for data collection and quality assurance. Using this data, you will design and develop reports, dashboards and databases to utilise this information, with the aim of driving evidence‑based decision making. Your work will help to improve population outcomes and reduce health inequalities.
Alongside this work, you will be given the opportunity to undertake a Level 7 Health and Care Intelligence Specialist Apprenticeship. This 22‑month course—funded by the local authority—will provide you with new learning and skills to lead analytical projects within Public Health and Population Health. One day per week of your working week will be set aside for study and off‑the‑job learning.
