About the role
Working as an authorised officer of the Council, you will contribute to a wide range of Environmental Health and Public Protection duties. The role includes inspections, investigations and surveys, complaint handling, sampling and monitoring work, supporting enforcement cases, preparing letters and notices, maintaining clear records, and helping to promote compliance through advice to the public, businesses and partner organisations.
For candidates appointed as a Public Protection Enforcement Assistant, the post is designed as a development opportunity, providing practical experience across key public protection functions while building the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to progress. For candidates who already meet the Public Protection Officer person specification, there is potential to be appointed directly into this broader role.
