Job Description
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for coordinating with Quality Control Administrators, the Quality Control Supervisor, the Quality Control Manager, Project Managers, the City of Ottawa, MTO-designated labs, and foremen on a daily basis to ensure correct aggregate samples are taken and delivered to the appropriate laboratory.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Asphalt sampling, granular sampling and compaction testing.Coring of asphalt and concrete.Plastic concrete testing and delivery of samples.Set rolling patterns for the rolling train in the paving crews in order to achieve optimum asphalt compaction.Collect asphalt samples based on pre-determined tonnages. Samples may be delivered to R.W. Tomlinson, Laboratories or designated MTO Lab.
