Position Overview
Provides glassblowing services required for continued operation in the Development and Production Departments; assists in providing maintenance and emergency repairs on production equipment.
On‑site in Kanata, ON
Your Day to Day as a Junior Glassblower
- Fabricates glass equipment for use in Development, Quality Control, Isotope Production and other users and customers.
- Operates and uses torches, glassblowing lathes, annealing ovens and cut‑off machines.
- Uses various gauges and instruments for dimensional checks.
- Finalizes and prepares the glassware for transfer to other departments.
- Ensures glass equipment is maintained in an operable state.
- Installs, tests and commissions new and replacement equipment in production facilities.
