GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Radiographer performs high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures and provides patient‑centred care across various modalities within the Diagnostic Imaging Services. The role includes ensuring radiation safety, maintaining equipment functionality, supporting workflow coordination, and participating in departmental quality and safety initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures (X‑ray, CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy, Mammography, Trauma Imaging, Mobile X‑ray) according to established protocols and clinician/radiologist requests.
- Apply radiation protection principles in accordance with Act 304, BSRP 2010, ALARA, and departmental safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and self.
- Prepare and educate patients by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, obtaining relevant history, assessing safety risks, and providing compassionate care throughout the imaging process.
