Are you driven and passionate about preserving the native flora of Aotearoa? We offer a full‑time, fixed‑term (through June2027) ranger role with a salary range of $61,189 to $67,446, depending on skills and experience. Accommodation is provided for the duration of the shift. The role involves living and working on the islands of Tikapa‑Moana (Hauraki Gulf).
About the role
As a ranger specialising in weed management, you will be part of a roving team working across several islands: four months on Rangitoto‑Motutapu, four months on TeHauturu‑o‑Toi, and shorter stints on TiritiriMatangi, Motuihe, Motuora, Kawau and nearby smaller islands (e.g., TeHaupa and Moturekareka). The work roster may involve a 10‑day on / 4‑day off cycle or a 5‑day working week, depending on island programmes. You are expected to reside on the island during your shift and commute off island on your rostered days off (except for Hauturu, which is exempt).
