Summary This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Community Programs (N922) Branch; Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Recreational Fleet and Family Readiness Support Services (N94); Commander, Navy Region Hawaii, at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam (JBPHH), Honolulu, HI. The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of duties in support of the MWR recreation program. The incumbent provides instruction on boating safety, sailing and windsurfing. Responsibilities Major Duties: Provides instruction on boating safety, sailing and windsurfing. Prepares lesson plans associated with sailing instruction for beginners, intermediate and advanced students. Teaches private one on one and group lessons with no more than 12 students per class. Teaches basic sailing skills, rules of the road; care and maintenance of sails, lines, safety equipment; defines storm signals, navigational aids and buoys. Performs other related duties as assigned.
