DIVISION: ISIPINGO HOSPITAL JOB TITLE: REGISTERED NURSE - SURGICAL ICU PURPOSE OF POSITION
To Provide age-appropriate patient care according to the nursing scope of practice as defined by the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill medical patients in the SICU. Assess, monitor, and manage patients with severe medical conditions, including acute respiratory failure, multi-organ dysfunction, and severe infections. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the medical team, ensuring compliance with SANC regulations. Monitor vital signs, laboratory results, and other critical parameters, promptly responding to any changes in patient conditions. Assist in the management of life-supporting equipment such as ventilators, dialysis machines, and IV infusion pumps.
