Will position float between units: No
Is on-call required? No
Are weekends required? Yes 6 weekend shifts per schedule period.
Are block schedules required? No
What are expected ratios? 1:6
Special requirements: The assigned nurse must be able to function as a fully independent staff nurse with a standard patient ratio of 1:6. In addition, the nurse should be capable of assuming Charge Nurse responsibilities as needed, and must be able to function in the charge nurse role independently. The unit provides care for patients ranging from 1 month of age through end of life, so broad clinical competency is essential. Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications are required.
