The Release Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of software and system releases throughout the entire lifecycle—from development and testing to production. This role ensures that release milestones are met by monitoring project progress, managing dependencies, and aligning the release process with overall business objectives. The Release Manager also provides tools and services that enable product teams to efficiently manage and deploy code to production.
In addition, the Release Manager leads a team of release coordinators, ensuring balanced workload distribution and clear prioritization while working under pressure. Using the Scrum framework, the role involves mentoring coordinators, supporting their skill development, and collaborating closely with team leaders, project managers, and product owners.
