Key Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
- Perform initial assessment and ongoing evaluation of neonates admitted to the NICU.
- Monitor vital signs, clinical status, and laboratory investigations of NICU patients.
- Develop and implement treatment plans under consultant supervision.
- Manage neonatal emergencies, including resuscitation and stabilization.
- Attend high-risk deliveries and provide immediate neonatal care.
- Perform procedures such as:
> Neonatal resuscitation
> Umbilical venous and arterial catheterization
> Endotracheal intubation (as per competency)
> Lumbar puncture
> Blood sampling and arterial blood gas collection
Patient Monitoring and Care
- Conduct daily rounds and document clinical findings.
- Ensure continuous monitoring of ventilated and critically ill neonates.
