Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Engage with DHH students, their whānau, and school staff across mainstream and specialist schools within the Mount Roskill – Glendowie, Otahuhu to Ponsonby catchment.
  • Plan, deliver, and assess curriculum-aligned lessons for early level Deaf learners, ensuring student participation and success in education and life outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping and liaise regularly with families and whānau to support student learning and welfare.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement best practice strategies for DHH learners.
  • Use personal vehicle for travel between schools; mileage will be reimbursed subject to conditions.

Qualifications

  • Proven best practice and experience working with Deaf or mainstream children.
  • Qualified Teacher of the Deaf or an experienced NZ registered teacher.
  • Current, clean driver’s licence.
