Job Description
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1Patient Care
- Perform basic pulmonary function testing for patients as requested by physicians.
- Assess patient's history, medication, procedure request prior to procedure.
- Explain procedure and orientate patient to the lab setting.
- Prepare and calibrate equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning.
- Conduct the basic lung function tests and calculate test results.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to patient needs / changes in well-being during the test.
- Exercise professional judgment to ensure patient safety. Escalate concern to senior staff where appropriate.
- Evaluate test reliability, patient's performance, and clinical implications.
- Schedule patients' appointment for lung function tests.
- Conduct diagnostic sleep studies according to established laboratory procedures. (When necessary).
