The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessment, treatment, and management of patients with breathing or other cardiopulmonary disorders. They work with patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly, and play a vital role in various healthcare settings.
Responsibilities
Managerial
- Maintaining sufficient inventory of material supplies and equipment for performance of duties
- Reporting shortage of materials to supervisor at earliest convenience, maintaining records for ordering and replenishments
Technical
- Perform complete pulmonary function testing
- Conduct skin prick allergy testing under the direct supervision of the pulmonologist.
- Administer respiratory therapy for inpatient (IP) cases
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain all respiratory therapy and diagnostic equipment.
