Unit: Cath Lab RN
# of suites/labs: 5 suites
#cases per day on average: Varies greatly
Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) BLS, ACLS
Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Structural, PCI, EVARs, peripheral angio, pacemakers, stents, axillaries, coronaries, etc
Job Duties: Scrubbing cases, maintaining sterile field, room turnover, transport, documentation
Experience or 'Must have' skills: "Must have at least 2 years of cath lab experience. Must have PCI experience. Pacemaker experience is highly preferred. RNs must be able to scrub. Prefer experience with procedural sedation."
EMR/Equipment : Cerner & Merge
Cardiologist hours/on call: 7a-7p, on call after hours
Is there a manager/Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: During regular hours always someone available. There is always a resource available.
