The J52 unit is a 24-bed unit specializing in the care of patients with a broad range of medical and surgical conditions. This includes individuals preparing for pre-cardiac catheterization and PTCAs, as well as those undergoing electrophysiological studies for arrhythmias, AICD or pacemaker placement, and those experiencing unstable angina. The unit also cares for post-thoracic surgery patients recovering from procedures such as lobectomies, pneumonectomies, thoracoscopic bilateral lung volume reduction for emphysema, and esophagogastrectomies.
