Job Description
We have an opportunity available in Sandton for a Road Freight Controller.
Responsibilities
- Co-ordinating and planning of all local procured cargoes and road freight to DRC for in-gauge and out of gauge (abnormal) cargoes.
- Co-ordinating and planning import RIT & RIB clearance for sea freight shipments, monitor shipment to ensure that containers do not incur demurrage costs.
- Liaise with the various Suppliers / LSP to ensure timeous upliftment of cargo.
- Planning of loads and maximizing truck capacity to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Booking of trucks and sending out pre-alerts timeously.
- Arrange Marine Insurance / surveyor inspection when required.
- Track all shipments and update reports accordingly.
- Monitoring POD and send to client as proof of receipt.
- Make sure accuracy and timeline of RFQ.
