Safety Coordinator - Job Description & Requirements: 1. Safety Planning & Technical Compliance Implement the Project HSE Plan for specialized tunnelling works.
Ensure strict compliance with local safety laws, OSHA/ISO standards, and client requirements.
Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and permits to work.
Coordinate safety requirements for blasting, excavation, and Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) operations.
2. Underground Site Monitoring & Inspections Conduct daily underground safety inspections to monitor critical hazards, including ground instability, rock falls, water ingress, and flooding.
Monitor ventilation and air quality (gas, dust, oxygen levels).
Oversee explosives handling (if applicable) and electrical/heavy machinery risks.
Exercise authority to stop unsafe work and report violations immediately.
3. Safety Leadership, Training & Awareness Demonstrate active safety leadership by delivering daily toolbox talks and safety briefings...
