Job Responsibilities
- Work a total of 11 sessions per week to be covered by 2 salaried GPs. Consultations and physical examinations to identify or reduce risk of disease or injury.
- Available at agreed times during the sessions for surgery consultations and telephone advice.
- All face‑to‑face consultations in the surgery; expected to carry out a fair share of home visits on days worked.
- Advice patients on general health, diet, exercise, smoking, alcohol consumption, and drug misuse.
- Arrange vaccination or immunisation against infectious diseases per national guidelines and policies.
- Refer where appropriate for other services under the NHS Act and to other agencies such as Social Services.
- Provide contraceptive services in accordance with Para 29 of the National Health Service (GMS) Regulations 1992.
